What foods should I avoid?

As a general guide, you should avoid those foods that many leave "remains" of food in your mouth; since these "remains", these small pieces of food can enter the extraction area (the dental socket).Among these foods are:

  • Fried foods
  • Dry fruits
  • Seeds: peanuts, nuts, coconut
  • Fritters or "snacks"
  • Popcorn
  • Rice

It is also essential to avoid those foods that may irritate in your mouth, in the area of extraction:

  • Spicy foods
  • Acidic foods

Keep the extraction area clean

After eating, you will have to keep the area clean, but be sure to avoid brushing directly on the extraction area for three to four days. Use a clean, damp cloth or cloth to clean the area gently.Do not rinse your mouth because this can also dislodge the clot. Some signs of an infection are that the pain gets worse, bleeding that lasts more than four hours, swelling, redness, and fever. If something seems abnormal, contact Battery Hill Dental. If you are having trouble breathing, seek emergency medical attention.
