For example, if you have $1000 for major dental and you don’t use any over the year, you still only have $1000 for the next year - not $2000. So it’s important to maximise your benefits and use them. What can you claim from your health fund?
There are two categories which dental treatment can fall into; general dental and major dental cover. General dental covers treatment like check-ups, cleans, fluoride treatment, x-rays, fillings and simple tooth extractions. Major dental covers treatment like root canals, crowns and implants.
The amount your health fund pays on dental treatment also depends on the level of cover you have. If you’re unsure what your health fund will pay, we can quote you through our HICAPS machine and let you know on the spot. Not all health funds allow us to do this, if they don’t you can give them a call and they’ll let you know over the phone.
We’re preferred providers for HCF, which means you will gain the most out of your health fund with us if you are with HCF. We still accept all health funds (and you still receive your rebate) through HICAPS.
